About:
Celeste Pewter is a former political staffer, with over a decade of experience in Democratic politics.
Celeste has bylines in CNN, Teen Vogue, Marie Claire and Thrillist. Her Halloween essay for Thrillist was submitted for the Beard Award in 2019, and her Teen Vogue essay on Vincent Chin was shared widely, as Stop AAPI Hate started gaining prominence. Her speeches for elected officials have been featured in national publications, and (in her greatest claim to fame) a John Oliver podcast.
Celeste was also featured on the Asian-American Journalist Association’s (AAJA) inaugural list of 100 journalists and subject-matter experts. She has an MA in War Studies, and is currently in the Global Security studies graduate program at Johns Hopkins University.
When she's not writing press releases or crafting the perfect social media tweet, Celeste is probably catering to her three cats, Tortellini, Jack and Sadie.
